In this role, I provide comprehensive support for Power BI users across the company, resolving technical issues, offering innovative solutions, and guiding best practices. I collaborate with teams to define and enforce Power BI guidelines, manage workspaces, and optimize report-sharing strategies. I am responsible for automating data refreshes from on-premise sources, configuring gateways for seamless integration, and staying current with Power BI's latest features. Additionally, I participate in the development of specialized use cases, such as building reports based on public data via API configurations. I also developed a SharePoint site to centralize Power BI guidelines and resources and contribute to strategic decisions around licensing and the future use of Power BI in the organization.

Responsibilities:

User Support & Troubleshooting: Assisting Power BI users by solving technical issues, troubleshooting bugs, and providing guidance on Power BI capabilities.

Consultation & Solution Design: Collaborating with users and teams to suggest new solutions, generate ideas, and identify what's possible with the current version of Power BI.

Guideline Development: Contributing to the creation of best practices and guidelines for Power BI usage within the organization, including workspace management and report-sharing strategies.

Feature Tracking & Adoption: Staying updated with new Power BI features and guiding the organization on their effective use.

Data Refresh & Gateway Configuration: Setting up and managing automated data refreshes, particularly for on-premise data sources, and configuring gateways to support these integrations.

Template Creation: Designing general Power BI templates to streamline report creation for various teams within the company.

SharePoint Site Creation: Developing a SharePoint site to centralize and document all Power BI guidelines and resources for easy access by users.

Context BI track on SOC reporting This project was designed to provide a comprehensive reporting and dashboard visualization of scoring and calculations made by Securitas. The primary objective was to establish a robust data environment to facilitate this process. The reporting tool is built around an Azure SQL Database, which serves as the central repository for all data. Azure Data Factory (ADF) is utilized to extract data from various file types (XLSX and CSV) stored in an Azure Data Lake and prepare them for storage in the database. For data ingestion, files are uploaded to an 'Inbox' folder within the Data Lake. This action triggers the ADF pipelines, which read the files and transfer the data to the Azure SQL Database. Finally, Power BI is employed to create user-friendly reports, enabling users to effectively consume and interpret the data. This comprehensive integration of Azure services delivers a powerful and efficient data reporting tool, fulfilling the project's aim. Responsibilities I was personally involved in the development of facts and dimensions, a critical aspect of the data warehousing process. This was achieved by creating stored procedures, which are SQL statements that perform specific tasks, to manage and manipulate the data. Additionally, I was entrusted with the task of building Power BI reports. This involved understanding the requirements of the business users and translating them into comprehensive, user-friendly reports that enabled effective data consumption and interpretation

Context Dymo operates a product manufacturing system involving multiple machines and uses a low-code application to monitor and visualize their machine production. To enhance management efficiency and deploy a robust production platform, they sought to implement a future-proof Business Intelligence (BI) system that could provide improved visualizations and real-time metrics. To achieve this, we initiated the migration of their on-premise SQL server to an Azure SQL warehouse, structured into three distinct zones: landing, staging, and curated. We created views within this setup to be utilized in Power BI, enabling the generation of reports that are consistently updated within a specified time period. This strategic approach has not only streamlined their production process but also ensured their system is equipped for future advancements. Responsibilities In various stages of the project, my role was instrumental. My contributions spanned across: Participating in the project's analysis phase, where I assessed the viability of different project elements. Constructing the project's data structure, ensuring an efficient and effective data management system. Working with advanced data processing tools to manage and transform data across different layers. Creating accessible data views to facilitate data handling. Enhancing the project's data visualizations by improving upon their previous versions.
