As senior project manager was I responsible for the build and roll-out of an innovation project within Janssen R&D/RDOI/JCI. iSTEP combines smart technologies – including smart packages, smartphone apps and scanning devices – with an integrated platform with a goal to improve the drug-development process for all stakeholders, starting with patients. iSTEP is designed to enable personalized, end-to-end patient engagement plus

automated clinical supply and data management in clinical trials. (The first phase of the iSTEP program often is referred to as eMeds.) Key program elements include real-time data capture in an effort to allow quicker analysis and decision making by investigators throughout the clinical trial, with reduced patient burden as a result of streamlined communication and record-keeping.

As a Project Coordinator I’m responsible for managing several larger and smaller projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

• Drive Technology Infrastructure projects from project coordination perspective.

• Coordinate effective Technology Infrastructure Projects (Cost, Schedule, Scope & Quality), efficiently supporting Business & other Technology departments during project lifecycles.

• Partner with project sponsors and customers to define business benefits, requirements and project scope.

• Align implementation details with business transition plans and Technology specific requirements.

• Inform stakeholders on progress and create and manage resource and capacity planning to drive project to successful completion.

• Collaborate with global and regional Project and Transition Management, Business and Functional Teams to align and coordinate project and portfolio management in Europe.

• Manage vendors and/or third party service providers and coach cross-functional team members where necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Manage global, regional and local infrastructure projects with varying levels of complexity

• Specify client project requests, taking into account the IT guidelines and procedures

• Group, prioritize and optimize those requests

• Take responsibility for gathering project requirements, define/document solutions and associated cost pictures

• Responsible for assembling project teams, identifying appropriate resources needed, develop and execute project plans, and assign individual responsibilities - Assist the business in developing risk mitigation strategies for changes

• Participate in change go/no go decisions

• Develop and maintain topology diagrams

• Track, schedule and manage issues to ensure IT commitment dates and project deliverables are met

• Deliver projects within requested timeframe and budget

Technical skills:

• Methodology/Certification requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science OR equivalent through experience. Advanced course work in technical systems plus continued education in technical disciplines is preferred

• Additional PMI certification is a plus

Personal skills:

• Some flexibility in working hours is required

Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision;

• Quick learner, motivated self-starter;

• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills;

• Able to follow change management for internal guidelines.
