Kris heeft een bachelordiploma in informatica.

Vroeg in zijn carrière toonde Kris al talent voor veelzijdige inzetbaarheid. Aan de ene kant is hij een gemotiveerde en dynamische projectleider, met een fijn gevoel voor klassiek projectmanagement met een vleugje XP/Scrum, aan de andere kant behield hij een sterke affiniteit met Java en open-source-technologieën. Kris heeft binnen verschillende projecten de rol van project- of teamleider op zich genomen. Bovendien is hij gecertificeerd in ITIL, Prince2 en Scrum.

Zijn veelzijdige vaardigheden en vermogen om zich snel aan te passen maken hem een waardevolle aanwinst voor elk team.

In 2011 richtte Kris zich op Android- en iOS-ontwikkeling: eerst als coördinator en vennoot binnen de Cronos Groep en later als zelfstandig consultant bij onder andere de Europese Commissie en Telenet.

De afgelopen jaren lag zijn focus op veilige, multidisciplinaire ontwikkelings- en architectuuroplossingen, gecombineerd met (technische) change management naar meer agile delivery models en platform engineering. Kris’ hoofdfocus ligt op het begeleiden van ontwikkelingsteams bij deze verandering en hen te enthousiasmeren voor deze nieuwe werkwijze.

with the FOD Volksgezondheid, I (co-)designed the following solutions:
- A blueprint of the FIT FOD program, which aims to provide more agility in development and deployment processes, such as
o Introduction of Git, Git Actions and accompanying best practices on development processes
o Improvements and automation on CI/CD via Gitea, Git Actions, Jenkins etc
o Introduction of additional QA gates such as SonarQube, OWASP and Renovate
o Introduction of proper Secret Management via Hashicorp Vault
o Migration from a classic JEE/PrimeFaces application stack to an Angular/Microservices stack using Spring Boot
o Introduction of the new release philosophy using containers via K8S and Docker for deployment on private and public cloud solutions.
- A blueprint of a new UAM solution using Keycloak as authentication workflow engine, using custom authenticators to enrich the authentication process with additional attributes and authorities. Next to a classic R(O)BAC approach, the flow would consider an ABAC based authentication using OPA.

Next to designing larger changes into the FOD ecosystem, I was also involved in multiple reusable component and business projects where my prime objective was to improve the quality of code, stability and maintainability of the solution.
